A HIGHLY flexible, ready-to-load, for storing all types and sizes of Urchin-style baits...and LOTS of them! Our innovative system is integrated with the included Plano 3700 Deep Open tackle tray with a custom-designed, CNC-machined base plate system insert that will not react with lures of any composition. Base plate is chemically-bonded to the included Plano 3700 tackle tray and CANNOT fall out or even be intentionally removed. Includes 40 stainless steel pins/posts with 'easy-grip' loop tops in 2 different spacing layouts that allow for up to 100 urchin baits to be securely held in place (each post can hold 3 small to mid-size urchins (like Yamamoto Uni, smaller Hag's Prickly pear, etc) or 2 large urchins (19+mm such as Coike Full Cast, Large Hag's Prickly Pear, etc). With the 1-hand front latch-secured lid closed, all baits stay 'in their assigned seats' whether the box is stored horizontally or vertically... on any side including upside-down... and all baits stay firmly in place in any position even when bouncing over the waves or dropped. Unique design allows for tight, ultra high capacity spacing of baits made of the same material whose tentacles can be allowed to intertwine (all TPE baits OR all Plastisol baits) yet design also allows for separation of baits that cannot be allowed to touch. Space your baits as close or as far as you prefer, use the flexible layout to separate baits that cannot touch, or save 10% on each additional Vault when you buy 2 or more vaults to completely separate all of your TPE baits from your Plastisol-based baits. While all components of this box are rust-proof, for those who prefer to store urchin-specific tackle with their urchins, we also offer a 'ready-to-load' version using Plano's Waterproof 3700 Deep Open box for an additional $8 (see separate product listing). The main advantages of the Waterproof version are that it can help to keep terminal tackle dry if stored inside and it will float much longer if it falls overboard... however we have noted that the lid gasket that Plano uses to make that box waterproof does cause the lid on the Waterproof version to require more effort (often 2 hands) to close/latch. In contrast, the lid latch on the non-Waterproof Plano is easily operated with one-hand. Check back for additional tackle tray/box options in the future.

** Baits made of TPE (such as Coike, Hag's Prickly Pear) must NOT be allowed to touch baits made of Plastisol because the chemicals will interact and cause 'melt.' All Urchin Vaults ship with printed tips about which baits to avoid mixing as well as tips for testing bait-mixing compatibility.
